2 Month Checkup

I can't believe that we are at the 2 month check up mark already. I have been lax in posting, but to be honest there just isn't enough time in the day to post here. Postings will be more frequent once sleeping through the night occurs.

On other news, the boys had their 2 month check up this week. Matthew weighed in at 9 lbs 11.5 poounds and 21 inches ( a 2 lb 8.5 ounce gain and an 1.75 inch gain) and Thomas weighed in at 11 lbs 8 oz and 23 inches (a 1 lb 15 ounce gain and 2 inches). Both boys are doing very well. They both smile and laugh a lot and Thomas really likes it when you stick your tounge out at him, he will stick his back out at you. They are both starting to repeat some sounds that we make, Matthew especially. Matthew now clicks his tounge in response to me doing it and will repeat my owl sounds. It is so amazing to watch them. Matthew picked up his pacifier this morning when I picked him up out of his bassinet as if to say "Mommy, don't forget this". They both have found their fists to suck on but have not yet mastered sucking on the thumb. They both also clasp their hands in front of themselves and stare at them. Both of their neck muscles are getting much stronger and they are both about a month or two ahead of schedule in the volume of food they are eating. I normally try to read to the boys every afternoon and they seem to enjoy that, especially Thomas. Thomas needs to see a physical therapist as the muscles on one side of his neck are much stronger than the other side (he always turns his head to one side) so we need to work on strengthing the other side.

They both started in daycare part time this week so that I could get a bit extra rest, get some much needed house work and other errands done and to get both them and me adjusted to being away from each other in anticipation of my going back to work on August 19th. Bringing them to daycare broke our hearts. But we know that they are well taken care of there.

Hope everyone is doing well and we hope to post some pictures some time this week.

Wow! That's so amazing! Sticking their tongue out and mimicking noises and grabbing pacifiers and looking at their hands! That's terrific! I can't believe they can do physical therapy on a baby, since he can't really control his movements yet. I'm so curious to hear how that goes.

Big kisses to all!!
