November 2010

Where does the time go? This year is almost over and we cannot seem to keep up!! The boys are doing good. We think Thomas might be Lactose intolerent so we are trying the Lactose free milk and if that does not help, he will be off to see the doctor. Both boys seem to always have some congestion during the winter months, so after another discussion with their doctor, we are going to try a nasal spray--God help us in trying to get them to take that!!! But if they take it, we will see if it helps any. One thing that seems to help is the Vics on the feet.

Overall the boys had a great November. Below are some pictures to show you their activities:

Playdough--notice that Thomas' colors are still all sepearated (and they remain that way today) while Matthew's are all mixed together (it only took him about 10 min to do that)

Here they are relaxing a bit watching some TV:

Here is some coloring/driving enjoyment:

Here are some specials of Thomas (he was more willing to pose for the camera this month). Notice his placement of his "cell phone"--just like his Daddy. Thomas has become quite the computer guru--holding Skype sessions with Grandma Mimi:

Finally, an update

It has been way too long that we have updated the blog. We have been so busy with the boys and moving to the new house. The boys have had a good summer and are gearing up for the colder weather and the snow that will come soon. The boys enjoyed "helping" in the garden this summer/fall with picking the carrots, onions and pumpkins. They enjoyed the "kiddie" pool and slide at Memere's and Pepere's. Daycare even brought them to a few sping softball games and they loved it!! As you saw in the last post the boys went to their first fair and saw "Old McDonald's Farm" with Grandma Mimi (a great visit). "Cow needs bath" is all Matthew would talk about for weeks after that!!! :-)

We had a great visit with Grandma Lilli and Aunt Lisa and enjoyed spending time outside with them rolling on the hills and running around.

The boys are getting big, to the point where I can't carry Thomas for long distances anymore--he is a big boy. But they love to walk which is good and they both LOVE being outside. We went for a walk in the woods this weekend with Memere and Pepere and enjoyed discovering mushrooms.

I am posting a variety of pictures from the summer/fall below. Enjoy.

Visit with Grandma Mimi

We had a great visit with Grandma Mimi last week. The visit started out great with the boys meeting Grandma Mimi in the driveway to say hello and hug and kiss her upon her arrival. They boys were so excited to have her visit and played with her and their toys each day, took Grandma Mimi for stroller walks, ice cream, the local fair, and loved reading books with her. Below are some pictures from the visit:

2 year appointments and new haircuts

The boys had their two year checkups Friday and the weight difference is growing between the two:

Thomas: 35 pounds and 36 inches tall
Matthew: 27 pounds and 33 inches

The checkups went very well. But we had to take them up to the hospital lab for some blood drawing to check a few things (mostly allergies and a CBC count for Matthew) and that was a BAD experience, they could not get the vein in the first arm for Matthew and had to do the second arm (he almost passed out). Thomas was difficult as well, but they got it in the first arm. And all this after getting a new vaccine in the leg. Poor little men!!!!!

Then on Saturday, we took the boys to get yet another haircut and we chose to do crew cuts this time as Thomas runs so hot that we are hoping the crew cut will keep him a little cooler. Not to mention that they both hate to have their hair dried so this will make that whole process much easier. Below is a picture of the new do's, I will try to get better pictures this next weekend and post some more.

Sayings

Hi everyone,
I just had to share with you some of the boy's sayings:

Matthew: Daddy, Mommy, Thomas, Matthew---FAMILY (Matthew and Thomas like to name all of the members of our family and then yell FAMILY)

Thomas: after drinking a full cup of juice and me asking him if he would want more, he grabs his belly and says "No, belly all full"

Thomas: after asking me to fix the safety lock on the door and me saying in a minute, Thomas says to me "Get off chair, fix it"

Thomas: all last week Thomas spent at my parents because Monday daycare was closed due to a funeral (so Matthew was with him), Tues, Wed and Fri he was not feeling well (all week actually) and Thursday both boys were at my parents. So Thomas started saying each morning "Matthew Daycare, Thomas Pepere and Memere's" and of course Thomas would do this right in Matthew's face.

And many many more sayings, so many that we split our sides laughing so hard sometimes. They are truly getting more vocal and expressive!!
